David's Bicycle Shop

Posted by Matthew Poster on

The BMX world is a pretty specific niche market. The old school BMX world is even smaller so having good people on your side and working together to bring high quality parts and service is what makes you and your brand.  I met David from David's Bicycle Shop online and after some back and forth, he decided to support BASIC's effort and offer our products through his retail store located at 917 N Hwy 67 suite 204, Florissant, MO 63031. David builds some of the sweetest bikes I've seen and wins at the shows with his outstanding attention to detail. David...

Skyway Tuff Wheels Restoration

Posted by Matthew Poster on

So a friend of mine saw pics of some blue Tuff Wheels I restored bitd and asked if I could help with a couple of pairs he had. Here's a link to those pics: https://www.facebook.com/groups/482095775319071/permalink/874226572772654/ He dropped off a pair of yellow and red Tuff's that had some serious aging issues along with one being totally spray bombed. If you're in town for this,...

I was surprised at how well, so I kept scrubbing and rinsing. Here are the final results: There was still a little yellowing and minor dirt but, I these will be great...

Elbow grease, (not shown) Razor blades, for decal removal GoofOff, sticky residue clean-up Simple Green, dirt and grime remover Aluminum Foil, rust remover Flitz, Chrome Polish Frame Saver, to protect the inside! The decals were wrong and jacked up too much to keep. I ordered new ones directly from Hutch so i was sure to have the complete set. These will be applied down below. Because I could not find any...
